June 15, 1997 - Ujamaa Merchants United, Inc.(UMU) - will celebrate the passage
of Juneteenth Independence Day legislation at the Second Annual Juneteenth Festival at
Barber Park in Greensboro, North Carolina from 12 noon to 7:00 p.m.
Rafekhi African Dance; Kook Sool Wan Martial Arts; Free Expression, Jazz and R&B band; J.D. Lloyd, in-line skating and the New Joshuas, children's drama group, are just a few of the performers scheduled to perform. Other activities include a kiddie korner, a health fair and voter registration.
