Ponca City, Oklahoma will celebrate Juneteenth with a city-wide picnic in the historically Black neighborhood at Attucks Park. Planned events includes a "Kids Korner" with entertainment and games for those 12 years and younger. In addition there will be 3 on 3 basketball tournaments, dominoe and card tournaments, vendors, food and family fun. The African American Greek Coalition of Altus, Oklahoma will be holding a Juneteenth Celebration on June 19, 1999 from 5-8 pm. The event is scheduled tohappen at the park behind Macedonia Missionary Baptist church on the corner of Blain and Pecan Street. Events will include a cake walk, dunking booth,basketball, DJ, "Moonwalk," and more. The celebration has been aided by many local Altus businesses so the cost is free.
