RISON, ARKANSAS The Lanwood-Risonian Civic/Social Club presents its first Juneteenth Celebration, Friday, June 18, and Saturday, June 19, 1999, Pioneer Village, Rison, AR. Theme: "Knowledge is Power" We feel that an annual celebration will educate our youth and adults of their heritage, social issues and other important aspects to promote prosperity. We have scheduled many interesting and educational events. This celebration will be an experience to be remembered.Friday, June 18, 1999, Pageant-- Contestants will receive awards for participation and talents. Saturday, June 19, 1999, 10:00 a.m. Parade Main Street, Rison. Line-up will begin on School Drive. 11:30 a.m. Opening Ceremony- Activities: Games for the entire family, inspirational singing, inspirational speakers, educational booths, food, vendors, crafts, and much more.
