The Urban League Guild will be sponsoring its Annual Juneteenth Celebration as a two-day event held on June 5th and 6th at Lincoln Jr. High School on 18th Avenue. Friday, June 5th, beginning at 5:30 pm, will include activities such as the Mr. & Miss Juneteenth Pageant and Fashion Show. Activities for Saturday, beginning at 11:00 am,include basketball tournaments, exhibitors and food vendors, story telling, face painting and local entertainment. Both days will include presentations and exhibitions on the significance of Juneteenth and its historical place in our community. For more information, contact Angelina M. Racine
The Parks & Recreation Department of Racine will be hosting its Annual Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday, June 13th at the Dr. John Bryant Center & Roosevelt grounsds located at 601 21st Street. The Celebration will last 12pm until 7pm. The theme for the event this year is "Our Destiny, Our Community". Activities for the day will include softball and basketball tournaments, pony rides, performances by local Drill Teams, various speakers from the community including local elected officials. Visitors will also have a chance to enjoy delicious food and take advantage of local entertainment including performances by choirs, bands, dancers and individual vocal performers. Juneteenth Celebration '98 will be held on June 19, 1998 in Milwaukee, WI The event will be held on Martin Luther King Drive, between Center Street and Burleigh.
