Flint's 1998 Juneteenth Celebration is planned for nine (9) days,
beginning Saturday June 13, and ending Sunday June 21. Juneteenth, promises to be a major
event within the Flint. Last year over 25,000 city residents participated in over 26
scheduled Juneteenth events. This year we expect over 40,000 city
residents to take part in the various Juneteenth events. Started by the NAACP
over 8 years ago this 9th Annual festival will prove to be
the largest Flint has ever seen. Cultural rites of passage, Community spirit, and
entertainment will guarantees something for everyone. Over 27 events
will take place throughout the week these include: Golf Tournament
Pancake Breakfast Harambee Celebration Community Picnic Youth Job Fair Parade Fish Fry Day
of Prayer Blues Jazz and R & B Concerts Downtown Gospel Fest Various Health Fairs
