COLUMBUS
June 20-21, 2008 - The Afro-American Culture Organization - softball tournament at sim scott park from 6:00 p.m.-until;open to public; Saturday June 21, 10:00 a.m.10:00 p.m. Sim Scott Park. Games and activities for children from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. approximately thirty food vendors, with a variety of food. Entertainment begins at 4:00 p.m. Gospel groups. At 6:00 p.m. blues begin with Keith and Margie, followed by Denise Lasalle and T.K. Soul. All actvities are free and opened to the public. 12,000 attended last year.
 
BILOXI
June -The Juneteenth Celebration, which is open to all ages with and without disabilities, features speech contests and poster contests of the meaning of Juneteenth, a parade, picnics, games, and the crowning of Mr. and Mrs. Juneteenth.
 

2007

McCOMB
June 23, 2007 - Black History Gallery Board of Directors - A Juneteenth celebration including poetry, readings, speeches, fellowship, etc. will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Black History Gallery at 819 Wall Street, McComb Miss.  Participants are encouraged to wear period costumes or African attire. Covered dishes are requested, and dinner will be served at 12 noon.

June 16, 2007 - MDM Enterprises - The event will be held at 3312 Martin Luther King,Jr. Blvd, Gulfport, MS.  The Baseball Field behind Isaiah Fredericks Community Center.  June 16,2007, starting at 10AM - 6PM.  There will be a special recognition for the older living Juneteenth activist, Rev. Harry C. Tart, age 99, and community leaders recognition.  Activities will include gospel choirs, praise and drill teams, baseball tournament, storytelling, information on health and wellness, arts, and craft, and food.

TUPELO
We host a three day Juneteenth Freedom Festival starting with a rap showcase on Friday, June 10th; Saturday, June 11th we host a family festival which includes a R & B Concert; And Finally, on Sunday, June 12th , we host a full day of great gospel music call "Praise in the Park"! The Saturday and Sunday events are free to the public. Last year we had over 13,000 to attend!
JACKSON
 June 17, 2005 - The 100 Black Men of Jackson, Inc. will observe the Juneteenth Holiday with their summer campers and others in the community by the singing of "Lift Every Voice and Sing", reading of the Emancipation Proclamation, Reading of the Thirteenth Amendment, Greek Step Show, Entertainment, Display Tables, Food, Fun, Dancing and Singing.

NATCHEZ
June 17, 2005   "Sankofa, Reaching back for our African Culture," is the theme for this year's Annual Juneteenth Celebration.   This year will mark the eleventh year that "Juneteenth" is celebrated in Natchez, MS and it is expected to attract hundreds throughout the Miss-Lou Region as well as Tennessee, Alabama, and Texas. The goals of the celebration are to raise awareness of the cultural wealth of the region and to purchase historical markers for significant African-American sites and events. St Johns United Methodist Church will be the site for this year's Marker
The 11th Annual Juneteenth celebration will be held on June 17th-18th, 2005 in Natchez, MS and will host several important events.
On June 17th 7:00 p.m.- The Juneteenth Committee will present "A Splash of Color" Fashion Show, followed by a "Taste of Soul" (Soul food prepared by - local chefs). This event will take place at the Natchez Community Center of Franklin Street. Grooveline wil provide dance music after the fashion show. Donation for this event will be $10.00. Tickets may be purchased at the Natchez Visitors Center.    On June 18th, the activities wil began at 9:00a.m..  There will be a Libation Ceremony at the "Forks of The Roads "enslavement Market site, Which is at the intersection of D'evereaux Drive, Saint Catherine, and Liberty Road. The Libation Theme is "Remembering the Greatest Generation of Enslaved Foreparents" giving them thanks for our heritage.  In conjunction with the Adams County Youth Rodeo Club, Inc., there will be a Youth and Adult Rodeo at the H&M Arena, 314 B Cranfield Road. This event will begin at 3:00 p.m.. Concessions will be provided. Admission for this event is $5.00 per car.
Juneteenth is a total community event and we encourage you and your group or family to cook out and enjoy the entire day with us.
