Juneteenth Day was big success

The Norwich chapter of the NAACP brought the first Juneteenth celebration to Connecticut in 1989. Caron said people have gotten lazy since then. A few vendors selling hot dogs at the park passed for a Juneteenth celebration. But organizers are going all out this year to bring the excitement back to the event.
