We will have a Reggae band and Charmaine Neville out of New Orleans, Billy Jenkins of the world champion St. Louis Rams, members of the New Mexico Slam IBL basketball team, bid whist tournaments, 3-on-3 basketball tourney,vendors, career expo, voter registration, health fair, children's showcase revue, police/military helicopters, karate exhibitons,church choirs,political constituents state and local, buffalo soldiers, and keynote speakers throughout the day.The event will be held at Thomas Bell Community Center and Kirtland Park, 3001 University SE, Albuquerque NM
Hobbs The Hobbs NM Juneteenth Planning Committee, invites you to our Eighth annual Juneteenth Celebration. On June 16th and 17th, 2000 in Hobbs, NM at Washington Park. The Celebration begins June 16th with "The Gospel Festival in the Park". Featuring local talent, Hobbs Community Choir,The Hobbs Men's Choir, The Hobbs Women's Choir, The Hobbs Youth Choir, The White Family, The Hungry five, The Hodge Harmoniers, The New Generation, Hobbs Mixed Choir and many more. Saturdays activities will start with a Parade that will travel thru downtown and ends at Washington Park. The rest of the day will be spent joyously celebrating this great day in "Our History" by participating in various activities. There will be live entainments with Kliff Hanaz Entertainments Presenting, R.B Vocalists Mister Montrell and Molikis from Dallas Tx. Rapper group (14-K) Featuring Woody, No Shame and Quad, one of their Hit! is (Momma ain't choo proud of me. Mr. Toby Mitchell will be the D.J. of the day and other local talented groups and individuals. A Skit written by Ms. Evelyn Resin will be proformed., African American story-telling, Car Show, Also 3 on 3 Basketball, Ladies Volleyball, Dominoes Tournaments, Bingo,and games for smaller children. African American Art, T-Shirts, Clothes, Crafts, Garage Sale, Face painting,Informative Information, and a large variety of food venders. 2500 to 3000 people is expected to attend.
