Marion Urban League will be hosting it's 4th annual Juneteenth Celebration on June 16th
and 17th, 2000. The event will be held at the Urban League grounds located at 1221 W 12th,
St., Marion Indiana. Friday the 16th, will kick off with an old-school band and picinic
beginning at 4pm. Saturday the 17th, will begin at 9am and include an historical fashion
show, gospel-fest, games, health screenings, firetruck rides, food, booths for businesses

June 24th from 10am until 7pm the Association For Social Change Will present
South Bends' First ever Junteenth celebration. It will be held at Lasalle Park Center at
3419 West Washington Street, South Bend, Indiana 46619. There will be a host of
speakers: Kenneth Lax, Abdul Nur, Pat Lamar Queen Mother of Saginaw Michigan and Imam Wali
Beyah, just to name a few. There will be sports activities and vendors. Please

Our organization, Anderson Juneteenth 2000 Committee, has
planned a three day weekend to celebrate Juneteenth, starting with a gospel concert at the
Anderson City Building auditorium with the HeavenlY Five hosting the JACKSON SOUTHENAIERS
in concert. Saturday June 17th and Sunday June 18th, there will be a street fair on West
22nd Street starting at Arrow Avenue and extending to Dewey Street, with food booths
featuring Bar-Be-Que and Mississippi catfish amoung others, vendors and a host of
entertainers on stage. On saturday, Togo's Heritage House will host an art show at the
shoppe at 22nd and Arrow Ave. There will also be a breakfast and speakers on Saturday
morning at Progressive Temple of Faith Youth Center. This is our 2nd year. We are
